Having already worked in the travel industry for few years, Deshan joined us in 2017 and is discovering his full potential by enthusiastically managing and developing the India market for TTC Sri Lanka.
Currently a young bachelor (#bacheloralert), Deshan lives with the five members of his family.
He has been enjoying his work and believes his job gives him wings to interact with the world and to experience amazing challengers. One of his most cherished things working for TTC is the colleagueship he has amongst the team. Presently has no big expectations for the future and believes he must live in the moment fully and give 100% to whatever he does and harm no one.
Away from work, he likes spending his free time playing cricket, gaming (PUBG: PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds), recharging and hanging with friends in his neighbourhood. If he was to recommend nightlife in Colombo, he’s suggest heading to the Old Dutch Hospital, which is now heritage building with shopping and dining precinct.
Further from home, Deshan appreciates the peace and serenity of his village temple where he finds refuge in meditation. Apart from that he loves going to Belihul Oya, (A river named Belih) which is 150 kilometres south-east of Colombo. It borders between the hill country, the low country, the dry zone and the wet zone with many amazing waterfalls to visit. In the North Central part of Sri Lanka, Deshan also loves the beautiful and calm location of Maussawa, though would suggest Nuwara Eliya to couples wanting a romantic getaway. And if he could stay anywhere in Sri Lanka, he’d like to go to Santani, a high-end wellness resort offering luxury escapes and is among the best ayurveda resorts in Sri Lanka and the world.
Ask him what his favourite food is and it’s more than likely he’ll respond ‘Milk rice with Katta Sambol’ (chili paste with Maldive fish) from his home.
Lastly, like many of us, Deshan loves to take train rides across the country…
